&

Attorney At Law

Rob Butler was admitted to the Ohio State Bar and Federal Bar in 1990, after attaining his law degree from the University of Wyoming.  Rob was in the top 20% of his class, and the vice president of the student body in his third year.

Out of law school, Mr. Butler worked for Donnellon, Donnellon, and Miller, where he developed a diverse practice, which included personal injury; family law; estate planning; probate; criminal defense; and general litigation. Mr. Butler has tried numerous bench and jury trials.  He has dealt with cases involving various matters and areas of the law that are too numerous to fully address. He developed relationships with his clients that have caused them to come back to him for all their legal needs, as well as to refer others to him.

He serves as the Solicitor for the Village of Golf Manor. He is their Mayor’s Court prosecutor, as well as negotiates contracts on behalf of the Village, writes legislation, and addresses the various issues that come up in any community, which involves human resources; property maintenance and zoning; real property acquisition and sale; and compliance with State and Federal laws and regulation.

In December of 2023, Rob left Donnellon, Donnellon, and Miller to start his own practice, Butler and Boymel. Recently he truly went out on his own, as a solo practitioner, RTBLaw, LLC. He continues with the law he practiced at the Donnellon firm.

“Yes, I’m doing the same type of work, but I had been with DDM for over 3O years and was ready for a new challenge.  I am taking a great deal of satisfaction working on my own. I like that clients feel comfortable dropping in without having an appointment and are always comfortable calling me on my cell phone whenever they have a question.”

“I generally represent people in some of the worst times of their lives, and the last thing they need is a lawyer they are not comfortable with.”

Rob is a member of the Cincinnati, Ohio, and American Bar Associations.  He is a graduate of the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers.

He served in the US Army from 1985 to 1987 as a medic in an emergency room in Germany. He also served as a helicopter medic during Operation Desert Storm.  He received two Army Commendation Medals; the Army Good Conduct Medal; Overseas Service Ribbon; National Defense Medal; and Southwest Asia Service Medal.  He was honorably discharged.

Rob is married and has three children, a dog, and two cats.  He plays and coaches soccer.  He also likes to read, write, and travel.
